Guess what we just had for dinner: Ximena's sausages in a balsamic glaze

Some real-time foodblogging here: we have literally just finished eating those sticky, glossy, fat wild boar sausages for dinner. They were lip-smackingly good. Very, very, very highly recommended..

Sausages (pork, wild boar, turkey, beef - it's your call) and balsamic vinegar - that's all there is to it. You'll find Ximena's auntie BegoƱa's recipe here.

  7. What kind of sausages did you use? I don't eat pork, but there are lots of full-flavored chicken sausages on the market here in the US.

  9. Pille, I had marked Ximena's recipe as well, but haven't eaten sausages yet since then. Next time I do though, they will definitely get the Lobstersquad treatment.

  11. I let out an involuntary sigh when I saw these! What a gorgeous meal! I have friends with a back yard (rare here) who grill sausages on their bbq every time I go for dinner. They know that nothing will make me happier.

  13. OMG, sausages. What's not to love. And I can imagine that the sweetness of balsamic vinegar with the salty porkiness of sausages woudl be phenomenal. Yum!

  16. Tanna - or as a filling for breakfast sausages next morning (that's how K ate them:)

Katie - 'one can never eat too many sausages' - I like that wisdom :)

    Kalyn - hey, thanks!

Mae - we don't have sausages for dinner very often, but I imagine they'll be appearing somewhat more frequently now.

    K&S - doesn't it? :-)

Lydia - I used wild boar sausages on the first day, and plain pork sausages on the second. I guess any sausage would work, so do try with chicken or beef!

Inne - these sausages are a must-try! We made them day after again..

Dinha - you're too sweet :) I'd read your blog, but sadly I don't speak any Portuguese..

Figs Olives Wine - I imagine that reduced balsamic vinegar would also work as a sticky glaze on a BBQ..

Veron- will you let me (and Ximena) know how you liked them, please?

Jeanne - you're a true sausage girl then:) I still crave your South African pepper, halloumi & sausage sticks!

    Wendy - thank you!

Joey - I'm sure you'll like them, especially if you like sweet & spicy & sour!
