Our Chicken, spring 2012

Photo-shoot from earlier today, when we let our for chicks out from their winter hideaway. We first got the chicken in April 2010. Carol (the black Araucana hybrid) and Evita (the lavender Araucana) are with us from that period, the Orpingtons Buffy (black) and Fluffy ("blue") joined us in December 2011. All are still strong egg-layers :)

Ja mis need kanad täna teevad? Ehitavad lumememme? :P

No eks see õhtune lumi tuli kerge üllatusena ja täna hommikul piidlesid esmalt tükk aega kuudist. Nüüdseks on kõik juba ammu lumehirmust üle saanud ja käituvad tavapäraselt - söövad, "pesevad" end lume-liivavannis, tatsavad niisama ringi, istuvad õueõrrel..

Tublid Põhajala kanad! Mina nende asemel oleks küll lõunamaale lennanud!

No kaks on inglannad (Buffy&Fluffy), kaks kuskilt Tšiili džunglist (Carol&Evita), nii et karmist puust.

How beautiful those chickens are. I wasn't aware that you had them. I shall make my way to your April 2010 posting about them.

Awww, how pretty they are!
I hope to have a couple of chickens myself one day. There's nothing like picking fresh, still-warm eggs from the coop!
